Overview

We built Kevin AI, a conversational automation platform designed to help businesses manage leads and customer communication intelligently. Developed using Next.js, Node.js, MySQL, AWS SNS, and OpenAI API, it enables real-time conversations and AI-driven insights from uploaded PDFs. Our focus was on scalability, security, and a smooth user experience.

Challenges

We needed to design a system that could manage thousands of SMS-based customer interactions in real time without delays. The integration of AI-powered PDF analysis, ensuring data security, and maintaining fast performance across different use cases were the main challenges.

Analysis

We studied how leads, chats, and document data flow through the system to identify performance bottlenecks. The goal was to optimize message delivery, API speed, and AI query response times. AWS services like SNS and Lambda were analyzed for automation potential, while MySQL was structured for efficient data handling and retrieval.

Solution

We developed a responsive frontend in Next.js, supported by a secure Node.js backend. AWS SNS and Lambda handled automated messaging and background workflows. The OpenAI API powered contextual understanding of uploaded PDFs, while JWT-based authentication ensured secure access. Together, these elements created a stable, fast, and intelligent communication platform.
